Prempro
Prempro is the brand name for a popular hormone replacement therapy drug made from a combination of conjugated estrogens (derived from the urine of pregnant mares) and medroxyprogesterone (a common component of many hormonal contraceptives). It is a widely-prescribed hormone replacement therapy drug used to treat post-menopausal symptoms.
While undoubtedly effective in this role, a recent study has linked Prempro to a range of serious side effects, including:
- Scleroderma
- Asthma
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Painful menstrual cramps
- Weakness
- Yeast infections
- Diarrhea
- Leg cramps
- Vaginal discharge
- Vaginal bleeding
In addition, the long-term use of Prempro also boosts the patient’s risk of contracting various forms of cancer, including breast, ovarian, gallbladder cancer, stroke, blood clots and lung embolisms.
If you or someone you love have been harmed through the use of Prempro, you could be entitled to compensation in a Prempro lawsuit for your pain and suffering. An experienced Prempro lawyer can help. Contact a Prempro attorney as soon as possible.
